Wii Day

I just got back to work after taking a bit of an extended lunch break and heading to my buddy’s house to play on his new Nintendo Wii. All I can say is awesome.
We played Tiger Wood’s PGA Golf 07′ and I absolutely loved it. I had heard lots of good about the Wii, but hadn’t had the chance to actually play it. The controls were extremely intuitive, and it really felt like I had gone and taken a couple of swings at the golf range. (Complete with a small twinge in my shoulder)

Besides the fact I had to head back to work and eventually home… I could have easily spent hours playing it. Our family has gone from zero video game consoles in our house to having a Gamecube and a PS2. The irresponsible part of me would love to go and drop some cash on the Wii… but I just might have to make do with mooching off my buddy for now.

  • Oh no — go cash in the Gamecube. We got a Wii after the Christmas Rush. And it’s a blast for everyone in the house. The 6 year old and I are always battling it out in Tennis. The 4 year old can beat just about everyone in boxing. And the wife secretly plays Super Mario Brothers and Donkey Kong. Little does she know that the Wii sends you a message at the end of the day telling you what was played and for how long. Also, (I wasn’t aware of it at the time) all of your game cube games can be played on the Wii.
Tiger Woods 2007 is awesome. I am hoping a good baseball game will come out. One much better than the one Wii sports put out.

  • man… i *SO* want one…
I just can’t believe all the awesome little cool stuff it does. TW 2007 rocks. I might have to contribute to a video game fund for my buddy and save up for it. Usually I am so impulsive, I really need to rein myself in at times like this.

  • I fiddled with one of those Wii thingies this past New Years and I’m hooked. But too broke to get one. And my television’s a little small so I’d be embarrassed. Even in the comfort of my own home. But the sports games what come with the system (bowling and tennis in particular) were great fun. The urge to buy one has been great but so far I’ve resisted. Or they’ve been out of stock…
